Murfreesboro

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you throw clay at your store?

No, we are a paint-your-own-pottery studio where you pick a piece of bare bisque (clay once it’s been fired once) and paint it however you like! We will clear glaze it and fire it to be ready for pick up one week after you paint.

  • What are your prices?

We charge an $8 studio fee per painter plus the cost of whatever pottery piece you pick to paint! Each piece is individually priced. The average price range of most of the pottery is about $20-$30 a piece but we have pieces in all price ranges.

  • What kind of pottery pieces do you offer to paint?

We have a little bit of everything! Plates, Mugs, Stemware, Bowls, Home Decor, Kitchen, Banks, Trinket Boxes, Figurines, Holiday, Pet and so much more!

  • How long does it take to paint a piece?

This can depend on your design idea and the size of the piece, but most adults usually spend about 2 hours painting while children spend about an hour painting.

  • Do I need an appointment to paint?

We are a walk-in studio for groups less than 8! So no appointment needed. Have 8 or more painters? Give us a call at 615-893-5556 to book a group reservation or click this link to browse and book our group/party options:  https://murfreesboro.colormemine.com/events/parties/

  • How long does my pottery take to fire and when will it be ready for pickup?

Your pieces will be glazed, fired and ready for pick up one week after you paint! So if you paint on Tuesday, your pottery will be ready for pick up the following Tuesday.

  • How long do you hold on to pieces after they’re fired?

We hold on to your pottery for 30 days after the pickup date. After 30 days, the pieces will be donated.

  • Are food and drink allowed?

You are more than welcome to bring any food or drinks you’d like! We do like to inform you that some oils in food and drinks can negatively affect your pottery during the firing and cause firing issues to your pottery. So it is recommended to wash your hands in between painting and eating to avoid this issue.

  • Are your paints non-toxic and washable?

All of our glazes are non-toxic and water based so they easily wash out of clothes with water!

  • Do you have idea books or techniques for painting?

Yes! We have everything from stamps to lace to silk screens. We are here to help show you all that we offer and help guide you to creating your masterpiece!
